一、 落實教學創新及提升教學品質(優化慈大教研)
1. Implement of Innovative Approaches to Enhance Teaching Quality
校務研究引領校務整體發展
Employed institutional research for guiding the University to establish its policies, practices, and programs
◎本校完成13個校務議題分析模組，出版有「2017慈濟大學校務研究論文集」
Completed thirteen modules for analyzing issues faced by the University, and published a book entitled 2017: Tzu Chi University’s Endeavors in Institutional Research.
確保學生學習成效，落實學用合一保障就業
Ensured students’ learning effectiveness, narrowed the gap between their learning in the University and the employer’s expectations in workplace, helping them to pursuit their desired jobs.
◎本校就學穩定率提升至108年93.59%。各類專業證照國考通過率持續優於全國平均通過率，畢業生待業率108年下降為2%。
In 2019, 93.59% of students stayed in the University to continue their studies.
The passing rates for University students/graduates taking various national licensure examinations are higher than national averages.
The percentage of graduates who were still looking for jobs dropped to 2%.
◎【天空學院】的2門MOOCs課程獲教育部2017磨課師標竿課程獎，更榮獲2019第三屆ELOE(e-Learning International Conference & Open Education Forum)年終大賞。
Two MOOCs courses won the 2017 Landmark Award from the Ministry of Education, and the University was also awarded at the 2019 3rd e-Learning International Conference & Open Education Forum for its MOOCs courses.
優化教師輔導系統、強化提升研究動能
Empowered faculty members’ teaching and research capabilities
◎本校自105年至今已有7名教師申請教師多元升等，4名教師通過審查升等。
Since 2016, seven faculty members in the University have been applied to be promoted via the multi-track promotions, and four of them were successfully promoted.
◎本校，申請教育部「教學實踐研究計畫」整體通過率65%，更有4名教師入選為亮點計畫。
Sixty-five percent of faculty members who applied for a “MOE Teaching Practice Research Program” received grants from the Ministry of Education; moreover, four of them received the “Research Excellence Award”.
◎本校生命科學系陳俊堯老師著作「值得認識的38個細菌好朋友」獲第43屆金鼎獎、2019台北國際書展「兒童及青少年獎」首獎肯定。
Professor Chun-Yao Chen in the Department of Life Sciences received two awards for his book Thirty-eight Bacteria that You Love, namely the 43rd “Golden Tripod Award for Publications’ and “Best Book Award for Children and Teenagers” at the 2019 Taipei International Book Exhibition.

立足台灣昂首遨遊全球
Based in Taiwan and maintaining open-mindedness to interact with others around the world
◎本校與泰國瑪希竇大學希里拉學院、美國安德魯大學等知名大學簽屬雙聯學位。
The University signed dual degree agreements with Mahidol University of Thailand and Andrew University of the United States.
◎108學年就讀學位之國際學生占比9.9%。
During 2019-2020, international students comprised 9.9% of the student body.
◎108年教育部公佈，本校獲得107年度大專校院境外學生輔導工作績優學校與績優人員獎。
In 2019, the University received an award from the Ministry of Education for its excellent work in serving international students during 2018-2019.
慈大特色教育閃爍全球、穩健邁向世界知名大學
The University’s special features won international recognition.
◎自2017年首次參與世界綠能大學排名評比就獲世界第200名佳績，2018年躍升為155名，2019年再進步至世界第146名。
The University became 146th in the 2019 Green Metric World University Ranking, up from 155th in 2018, and 200th in 2017.
◎2018年本校獲選為「行政院國家永續發展獎」教育類表揚單位。
The University received the Executive Yuan’s “2018 National Sustainable Development Award”.
◎獲教育部108年「生命教育特色」學校。
The University was named “Life Education Featured School” by the Ministry of Education in 2019.
◎慈大華語中心獲選為108年THE KNOWLEDGE REVIEW雜誌東亞十大最有價值的語文學校，是台灣60間華語學校唯一入選。
The Chinese Language Center was recognized by Knowledge Review Magazine as one of the ten most valuable language schools in East Asia, and the Center was the only one among 60 language schools in Taiwan to be chosen.
◎本校2019年參加英國泰晤士高等教育Times Higher Education(THE)世界大學影響力排名(University Impact Rankings)，總體成績全球第67名台灣第一。
The University was ranked 67th in the 2019 Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings, and first in Taiwan.
三、 提升高教公共性 (強化慈大特色)
3. Expand Public Services
多元招生重視弱勢族群
Welcome underprivileged students and attend to their needs
◎本校近三學年度註冊率已穩定成長，經濟文化不利學生休退學比例逐年下降，
For the past three years, the percentages of students deciding to continue their studies in the University have been increasing, and the percentage of students taking leaves of absence or discontinuing their studies has been decreasing.
◎本校有完整「完善弱勢輔導機制」協助經濟文化不利與原住民族學生設定各階段學習目標、搭配業師陪伴完成目標，培養學生與職場無縫接軌。
The University attended to the needs of underprivileged students, as well as indigenous students, by inspiring them to set learning goals, and inviting volunteers with extensive work experiences to accompany and assist them to seek employment.
健全校務治理、系所評鑑全數通過
Enhanced University governance that all departments and institutes and other academic units passed the various evaluations conducted by evaluation and accreditation institutions.
◎本校已建立全校性之自我評鑑機制，本校第一、二週期系所評鑑獲100%通過。第一、二週期校務評鑑，以及通識教育評鑑與師資培育評鑑等亦全數通過外部評鑑檢視。
The University has carried out a university-wide self-evaluation mechanism for years. In 2019, all departments and institutes passed the phase I & II evaluations conducted by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan. Moreover, the Center for General Education passed the General Education Evaluation, and the Center for Teacher Education passed the Teacher Education Evaluation.
◎醫學系TMAC評鑑通過並獲得六年效期最高等級的肯定。
The School of Medicine passed the Taiwan Medical Accreditation Council’s evaluation with the highest approval, which is valid for six years.
推動終身學習升級為全球志工大學
The University will attend to the lifelong learning needs of volunteers around the world, and prepare students to become professionals with the spirit of volunteerism.
◎本校社會教育推廣中心遍布全台15據點及海外6個據點，每年開設3,300班次，提供六萬人次學員終身學習機會。
To serve the public, the Continuing Education Center offers courses in fifteen domestic locations and six overseas. The Center provides 3,300 courses every year to meet the lifelong learning needs of around 60,000 people.
◎108學年起升級成為全球志工大學，依志工需求規劃救災訓練、悲傷輔導、助人技巧及語文等相關學分班。
Beginning in 2019, the University decided to take a big step to attend to volunteers’ needs around the world, by providing various programs, such as training in carrying out emergency relief work, grief counseling, skills for helping others, language learning, etc.
四、 善盡社會責任(承擔社會使命)
4. Fulfill Social Responsibilities
服務學習實踐利他人文、無毒有我反毒教育宣導
Carry out altruistic deeds and participate in the anti-drug abuse campaign
◎慈大川愛志工隊「蜀光‧蘇行」，於108年青年海外和平工作團隊競賽獲銅獎。兩位同學榮獲青發署108年教育業務志願服務獎勵志工青學獎。
Volunteers of TCU SCLOVE won a bronze medal from the Youth Overseas Peace Corps. Two students were also awarded for their volunteer endeavors in education.
◎本校十年來辦理及參與全國機關學校及社區教育宣導已超過12,545場次，活動互動人數高達1,384,868人次。
For the past ten years, the University’s faculty members, staff and students have taken part in 12,545 anti-drug abuse campaigns, sponsored by government agencies, schools of all levels and communities, and a total of 1,384,868 people have participated.
大學社會責任實踐計畫
Fulfill University Social Responsibility (USR)
◎本校參與USR教師數108年已提升至45人，參與USR場域學生提升至2300人次。
In 2019, 45 faculty members and 2,300 students regularly took part in USR programs.
◎校內正式成立食在永續消費合作社，支持花蓮當地小農及部落產品，推動在地循環經濟。
A sustainable cooperative store was established on the Main Campus, to assist Hualien’s local small farmers and tribal people to sell their products to the public, and promote the local circular economy.
◎建置完成創意數位旅遊資訊導覽平台及花蓮旅遊APP。
To better serve tourists, the University constructed a digital navigation program and developed an application (app) to provide Hualien’s tourist information.
◎USR計畫團隊更協助光復鄉成為花蓮第一個部分通過行政院地方創生事業計劃的鄉鎮。
The USR Team assisted Guangfu Township to become the first township in Hualien County to partially pass the Executive Yuan’s Local Entrepreneurship Program.
本校高教深耕計畫呼應校務中長程發展的願景形塑慈濟大學為培育富有志工精神的專業人才及全球志工繼續進修之大學的「國際性專業志工大學」及「實踐永續發展目標之典範學校」。
In responding to the Higher Education Sprout Project’s request that every university set long-term development goals, the University decided to be a model university that prepares students to become professionals with the spirit of volunteerism, assist volunteers around the world to pursue their lifelong educations, and carry out sustainable development practices.
